Bev M - As a parent we always want our children to find something that makes them happy. Our daughter Sydney, at an early age, showed a love for animals - especially horses. So we wanted her to learn that it is not all about the riding. The care and attention that is required before the riding is equally or more important than riding. Upon searching for a place that would value this, we were directed to speak with Sherry Theuerkauf. The EAL Sherry provides is more than a program, it's a passion that she share with the kids that visit her property. Sydney has learned a great deal in the caring of the horses and how they react to her. Sydney is a busy girl and has issues with focusing on the task at hand. After each visit we notice a shift in Sydney's ability to focus for the better. That in itself is beneficial. Teaching her that the choice you make has an immediate reaction whether positive or negative and how you move forward. We share our deepest gratitude for allowing children an experience they will have for a lifetime.
Albert F - This is a beautiful relaxing experience. The horses demeanours change from visit to visit, but they are always very sweet. It is so soothing to be in this space. You need to keep your mind clear to have clear communication around the horses. If you are calm, they feel it and value it. They remind you to get calm. I would highly recommend.
Sophia B - EAL with Sherry has been immensely rewarding. I learned more about horses than I ever have while riding, and it is astounding to me just how good of teachers the horses are! The experience has been grounding, eye-opening, and invigorating. As a busy adult, Sherry and the horses have helped me find peace and relaxation away from the stressors of work and life.
Tricia B - As a friend who has spent some time at Sherry’s beautiful property in the midst of forest and field, I had the opportunity to learn about Equine Assisted Learning from her, and from the horses. I had the privilege of interacting with each of the six horses, all of whom have distinct and wonderful personalities and are teachers in themselves. Sherry was able to facilitate a rich connection between the horses and me, something new to me and quite beautiful to experience. Her manner
with the horses was lovely to see, and she clearly has the ability and insight to teach the lessons that being in communion with the horsesoffered. Within days, I was able to approach the horses safely, groom them, lead them, and be present in the paddock safely. Sherry provided the opportunity to debrief and discuss my experience and consolidate what I’d learned. As a bonus, the “Furry Pup Support Team” (i.e., herfour dogs) were huge fun to hang out with!
V - Hello my name is V____! And I’m 11 years old. I want to say that this family is an amazing family! And that their atmosphere is very amazing and cozy! All of there pets are super friendly! Especially the dogs! Sherry is an amazing person with a very friendly personality! Their house is very neat and it is very cozy. And because it is out in the woods it makes it even more better because it is very peaceful and quiet there!
Anna B - Before I visited Sherry’s farm, I couldn't have even imagined how meaningful and deep the connection between animals and humans could be. It is a different world that is full of peace, joy, and balance between life and soul. In this place, you become a piece of nature, a piece of the universe; you never feel any dependency.
